THE ATR 72

BRITISHJET introduced the ATR 72-500 in 2021, it is used on short commuter- regional & domestic services. It is perfectly suited to feed our London hub connecting our worldwide network with regional airports.

The aircraft is manufactured by ATR in Toulouse - France & is part of the Airbus group.

The ATR 72 is now one of the worlds best selling regional commuter aircraft, it is a larger & much higher performance variant of the original ATR 42 first developed in the 1980’s. The 500 series (officially 212A) is the second in a family of 3 versions developed of the larger ATR 72 and first took flight in the 1990’s. Production of the ATR 72 family continues today and more than 800 aircraft are operating in the world.

Designed with high capacity, frequent regional sectors & durability in mind - the ATR 72 delivers renowned performance, reliability and economics as well as offering the most comfortable regional aircraft cabin in its class.

BRITISHJET operates it’s ATR 72 fleet with an all economy cabin configuration of 68 seats with a popular 2X2 layout and brand new ultra-slim seats offer a generous 79cm pitch minimum.

ATR 72-600

In 2023, we announced an order for 15 brand new -600 series to expand and replace the current ATR fleet. We will start to introduce these new aircraft from May 2024 and they will gradually be integrated into the network as more examples are delivered for the remainder of the year and into 2025.

Eventually the older -500 series fleet will be phased out and we hold options on additional new aircraft to agian expand the fleet and offering.

The new -600 sreies comprises many enhancements, it has a capacity increase of 4 seats, a new engine model, glass cockpit and redisigned cabin to mention a few.

Our ATR 72-500 aircraft join us from previous operators, known as mid-life aircraft acquirement’s.

Before we introduced them to our network - we overhauled every single aspect of the cabin to ensure they meet our high standards and yours.

The introduction of brand new ultra-slim ACRO seating increases personal space by more than 20% and the fixed angled recline makes the journey even more comfortable - without fear of the seat in front of you reclining any further. These modern seats are also made from light metals & composites. This reduces aircraft weight, helps us burn less fuel and is better for the environment as a result.

All cabin lighting is updated with new bright & crisp LED installations, for a clean & fresh look. Personal reading lights are also updated with LED bulbs to give you more individual control over lighting needs.

The washrooms has also had a full refurbishment to include new flooring & lighting.
